It seems that after a dissapointing bust forecast for the NWS (of which we at RWS West Coast were skeptical of high percip amounts forecasted for today's storm) the rainy season is drawing to a close meteorologically speaking even though a little over two weeks remain till the official end which is on May 15th. So what does the next two weeks bring in weather you ask? Well, all indications point towards a major heat wave forthcoming for California where triple digit heat is possible for the first time this year. We may even break some records in terms of warmth which would be on track with our above average summer forecast here at RWS. With the GFS pointing to even warmer weather as we head into mid month, the heat seems to be sticking around for the foreseable future. While it's still too early to pinpoint what forecast temps would look like during the hottest period, a good estimate would be:
SFO: 80-85F
SJC: 85-90F
Downtown LA: 90-95F
SAN(Lindbergh): 85-90F
Given these temps, this would make this upcoming heat wave the warmest we have had the temps be all year so far, so some serious heat is coming. Are you ready for it?
