So far this week we have had rainfall amounts that are quite variable with some spots like SFO and the Napa area receiving close to a half inch of rainfall while other areas getting less than a quarter inch like the San Jose metro. Further south rainfall has been even more sporadic and in some cases even non-existent in the LA metro area. However, there will be some rainfall coming tomorrow with mostly light amounts near a tenth of an inch for urban areas in NorCal. As for the weekend there should be a formidable storm coming through on Sunday bringing some heavier amounts of rainfall with most urban areas getting near a quarter to half of an inch in NorCal. But what about next week? The GFS and to some extent the ECMWF are all showing a dry forecast through Saturday of next week with warmer temps into the mid 70's for NorCal and near 80 for SoCal inland areas from Wednesday onward. So at this point in time it's looking like a dry and warmer week is in store for California as more typical weather for Spring begins to take hold. Given the PNA parameters currently the models solutions can also be supported with a positive PNA pointing towards the development of a ridge along the West Coast. So at this point in time, it doesn't look like we will be seeing many April Showers bringing May flowers.
