First 100F+ temp in NorCal inland areas this weekend!

Even though SoCal has had a cool summer so far, NorCal has been heating up periodically( roughly every weekend) with above average temps but for the first time this year the heat will be more pronounced with temps reaching the triple digits in the interior valleys. This is on par with the usual time that we see these kinds of temps in the inland valleys, and coincidently last year at this time we experienced a record breaking heat wave as well with temps topping off above 110F in some spots of the Sacramento Valley. This time around we are looking at temps from 100-105F so no 110+ temps, at least this weekend. We may see these kinds of temps as we head into July and August but that is far long range and it's too early to speculate what may happen then. So far, the summer forecast issued here at the RWS for the West Coast has been on par with above average temps witnessed in NorCal for the majority of this month. I'll have a recap of the temps that occur over the weekend on Monday.

Forecast temps for selected cities:

Sacramento( SAC EXC): 104F
Stockton: 102F
Napa(APC): 94F
San Francisco(SFO): 85F
San Jose(SJC): 92F
